Artifacts made by asylum inmates.
This collection, assembled by Giovanni Marro, includes artistic artifacts created by patients recovered in the Psychiatric Hospital of Collegno (near Turin) between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th. It consists of sculptures in wood and bone, water colours, embroidery, and weaving.
In the picture “The world in review”, a booklet of 60 pages richly illustrated by Mario Bertola, who was recovered in the Collegno Psychiatric Hospital (beginning of 20th century)
